The nose on our 2011 Anderson Valley Pinot Gris is a striking blend of floral notes of freesia, white peach, and struck flint. A complex wine that is continually evolving in the glass, the palate is full of flavors of beeswax, apricot and Mandarin orange. The mouth is delicate balance between bright acid and a richly textured finish.

Floral aromas of fressia and honeysuckle are balanced with notes of fruit including Mandarin orange and baked pear. Flavors of citurs contiue in the mouth while exotic hints of quince and Madagascar vanilla add depth. For a wine of such intensity it is suprisingly light on its fett, with crisp aicd punctuation in the richly textured finish.

Riesling is often described as the most transparent of white wines, reflecting the site and vintage in the glass. Our 2011 Anderson Valley Riesling was harvested in November at the end of a cool vintage and the wine gives a great sense of the year with crisp acidity and flavors of lemon and green apple. Wet rock and struck flint aromas on the nose are complemented by hints of green melon and Asian pear.

Our 2011 Gewürztraminer is loaded with beautiful aromatics of rose petal and tropical fruit. Hints of honeysuckle and lychee add depth to the nose. The tropical and floral flavors continue in the mouth with notes of pineapple, lemongrass, and spice. The cool vintage is reflected in the bright acidity and clean finish of this delicious wine.

Our second vintage of Riesling from Greenwood Ridge displays classic notes of wet stone and wild flower honey along with pear, passion fruit and sea salt on the nose. Flavors of Key lime and Alphonso mango fill the mouth. Layers of bees wax and lemon zest give richness to the palate which is balanced by intense acidity which provides a cleansing minerality on the finish.

The flower and spice aromatics of Gewürztraminer (Gewürz means spice in German) are always particularly intense in Ferrington Vineyard’s fruit. Exotic aromas of lemongrass, lychee, and freesia are complemented by more familiar notes of Granny Smith apple, lemon peel, and pear. Flavors of lemon, chamomile, and apple are carried by the refreshing acidity. We love to drink this wine all summer.

Our 2009 Savoy Vineyard Chardonnay is an exceptional wine. Vibrant aromas of lemon curd, marzipan, French melon, brioche, struck flint and toast mix for an especially intoxicating nose. Flavors of lemon grass, grapefruit, and pineapple give way to notes of Asian pear, and quince paste on the finish. The highly textured palate is an exciting interplay between fresh acidity and the richness of barrel fermented Chardonnay.

A lovely shade of salmon in the glass, this delicious wine is packed with aromas of strawberry-rhubarb pie, Granny Smith apple, and watermelon rind. Luscious flavors of cranberry, grapefruit, and strawberry are carried by brisk acidity. The finish is punctuated with notes of kefir lime and pomegranate. A splendid wine to enjoy all summer long.

A wildly exotic wine with intense aromas of blackberry compote, dark chocolate, and black pepper on the nose. The mouth is filled with rich layers of red and black fruits including cassis, boysenberry, Bing cherry, and pomegranate that mingle with more subtle notes of toast, vanilla, cinnamon, and cola.

Our fifth vintage of Anderson Valley Pinot noir has an especially compelling nose with rich layers of black cherry and pomegranate mingling with subtle notes of anis, cinnamon, and penny royal. The palate is packed with luscious blackberry, cherry, and dark plum. Sweet spice and toast linger on a finish punctuated by bright acidity.

Ferrington Vineyard’s characteristic core of intense red fruit in on clear display in the most forward of our Vineyard Designate Pinot Noirs. Aromas of Bing cherry, pomegranate, and raspberry jam fill the noise while hits of coffee, toast, and cola add depth and complexity. The broad luscious palate is carried by flavors of red currant and cherry. A balance of fine grained tannins and acid provide a coating mouth feel.

Donnelly Creek is typically our most structured Pinot Noir and the 2009 is no exception. The nose is intense with aromas of black cherry, cola, and plum. Flavors of cherry, toast, cinnamon, and clove linger in the mouth and the dense tannins provide a weighty mouthfeel that suggest this exceptional wine will age gracefully for a decade or more.

Our second effort with Chardonnay from the acclaimed Alder Springs Vineyard has intense nose of mango, honeydew and lemon. Hints of toffee and beeswax give depth to the aromatics and also carry through in the mouth. Flavors of quince, apricot, and a touch of coconut complement the taste of fresh lemon peel. The palate is oily and rich, coating the mouth with a unctuous texture that is punctuated by bright acidity.

The dense aromas of black fig and clove are striking in this classically styled cool climate Syrah. The nose is loaded with notes of black pepper, kirsch, coffee, and rum cake. Many of these flavors carry through in the mouth with additional hints of blueberry, bacon, and toffee. The abundant finely grained tannins indicate that this is a wine built for aging and will reward patient cellaring.

Our 2010 immediately displays the classic hallmarks of Anderson Valley Pinot Noir – an intense aromatic core of black cherry and pomegranate with more subtle notes of forest floor and wild sage. The palate is a lovely blend of sweet black fruits and spicy toast that build on the elegantly defined tannins to give a supple mouthfeel and rewarding finish.

Our 2009 Savoy Pinot Noir is a wine of striking intensity and definition. Aromatics of black cherry, blueberry, and pipe tobacco fill the nose while hints of Christmas spices and cedar add depth and complexity. The mouth is packed with rich flavors of cherry, pomegranate, and cola. Subtle notes of sweet spices, fennel, clove, and coconut linger on a finish built by silky tannins. This profound wine will continue to develop with age for a decade or more.
